Biological & Ecological Intelligence
Making Life Visible.
BeeNova works with beekeepers, communities, researchers, and institutions to observe pollinator health and environmental change. We connect knowledge from the field with careful documentation so people can understand what is changing and make better decisions.
What We Do
From Field Observation to Useful Evidence
On-Site · Documented
Field Observation & Verification
Structured, site-based observation of hive conditions, pollinator activity, and surrounding habitat. We document what is seen, where, and when — and we record what remains uncertain.
Baseline · Longitudinal
Longitudinal Data Collection
Returning to the same sites over time to build a record of change. Repeated observation is what makes patterns meaningful and baselines reliable.
Community · Stewardship
Community Stewardship
Local beekeepers help shape field observations and contribute knowledge of their colonies and landscapes. Their understanding of place and season is part of the record.
Education · Preparation
Practical Education
Preparing prospective beekeepers and land stewards with honest, grounded knowledge before they begin. What people understand at the start shapes what they are able to sustain.
What BeeNova Makes Possible
Verified biological intelligence creates real commercial opportunity.
BeeNova is more than field observation. The evidence, experiences, and relationships we build with beekeepers and ecosystems open pathways that span sectors — from the table to the land to the classroom.
Premium Hospitality & Restaurants
Provenance-verified honey, bee products, place-based tasting experiences, and ecological storytelling that distinguishes a property, spa treatment, or menu.
Wellness & Spa
Apiary experiences, hive-derived ingredients, and immersive nature programming grounded in documented ecological practice.
Food & Beverage Brands
Independently observed supply chain data, biodiversity claims with field evidence behind them, and credible sustainability narratives.
Education & Cultural Initiatives
Curriculum partnerships, public programming, and place-based learning experiences built on real field observation and community knowledge.
Ecological Monitoring
Evidence-based baselines and longitudinal records for businesses, landowners, and institutions that need to understand and demonstrate environmental impact.
Regenerative Experiences
Designed encounters with working apiaries and living landscapes — for guests, clients, or communities — that connect people with the ecosystems that sustain them.
Built with beekeepers
Beekeepers notice changes in their colonies, seasons, forage, and landscapes that a single site visit can miss. BeeNova works with them to document those observations, connect them with other field evidence, and build a clearer picture of what is happening in each place.
"The health of human systems depends entirely on the health of living systems. Our work makes that relationship legible."
Our Mission
BeeNova was founded by Dr. Michelle Barry, an anthropologist and systems thinker. The organization exists to connect local stewardship with the evidence and support needed to sustain it — building a clear, honest record of what is happening at the places where we work, and helping partners understand what it means.
